Multiple musings

And it happened.. the internet did disappear from my life for a good 3 days. Easily, this would be the closest I would want to get to the feeling of isolation. The force works in mysterious ways, just a couple of days back I had hypothesised on the disappearance of the web. When it actually happened, my world did came crashing down (not really but it could have).

Brings to light a very important fact, if there is something that is truly indispensable today it is technology. You can imagine it as having a life of its own, evolving and growing into us. No-one knows where it is taking us, but we like this journey.

By sheer co-incidence I also happened to watch this movie called 'Grown-ups' which made me even more deeply realise how far we had come from when we were truly the owners of our free will. When waiting for a post card from your grandfather was fun, when running in the nieghbourhood park (and just like that, at that) was just fun and not an 'interest' that you quote in your CV. When hot summer afternoons were spent playing boardgames and not 'news feeding' your friends about the beer that you just guzzled.

While I swear by technology everyday of my life, each day I also take a step back and ask myself if it is taking the fun out of life? An abrupt ending is on the anvil.

In other news, Laxman proved to be Ponting's nemesis again by pulling India out of the jaws of defeat. Commendably helped by Ishant Sharma Pragyan Ojha. There were also 5 golds in the CW Games today. I wonder which of these is going to make the headlines tomorrow.

But yes, never get too comfortable with technology. Its not your wife.
